Thursday evening I decided to go to Fallen Arrows for a live Cousin Dan show. At first glance this half man/ half sex demon appeared to be a time traveller from the early 1980’s. I couldn’t have been more wrong. The actual date is closer to late July 1977. In a good way. His live show is like being on one of those spaceships from early 80’s television just with more drugs and dancing. Yet behind the spectacle and ecstasy of his on-stage appearance, there lies a uniquely gifted songwriter who has the power to take you on a magical sex quest to outer space. Can one man be simultaneously from the future and the past? If that man’s name is Cousin Dan, then fuck yes he can.

My friend Adam Babar (Easily Suede) sent me some guitar noodlings in a dizzy fit I stripped all the frequencies apart, emotionally dissected each aural chunk, synthed it up, dumped it to tape and then over an odd evening-day, after 4 wildly different versions, this happened. Shall be working with him on future projects where we record together live, physically in the same room(!) which shall be another entity all together.
