Bonnaroo 2008 Saturday (Day 3): Thirty Epic Hours
Bonnaroo always has a momentum all its own and no matter how you imagine your weekend to go, it ends up being a completely different experience. Saturday morning I woke up around 4am in the morning after sleeping through crazy thunderstorms that wrecked our camp. Most of the people in my crew were coming back from seeing late night shows and we hung out and talked about our Friday experiences. The rain continued on and off for the rest of the morning, so I had some beers for breakfast and chilled out under our shelters that hadn’t been destroyed. I caught an hour power nap around 9am, and then headed out for the day. I walked around the campgrounds for a while taking in the atmosphere. The rain had died out mostly by then, and people were out and about in the muddy conditions.

Live Show: Pearl Jam (7/13/1998)
The only Bonnaroo headliner I’m really interested in is the boys from Seattle. If there was any one band that got the most backlash from the early ’90s grunge blow up, it is obviously Pearl Jam. There are a lot of reasons for this. They didn’t go in a cliche’ direction and just keep churning out radio friendly rockers. They seem to be the only major band from that era that never broke up so they are the only one that stuck around long enough for all bandwagoners to get sick of them. They speak out on political issues and for some reason people don’t like that. And probably worst of all, starting in the middle 90′s and continuing even today, too many douchebags ripped Eddie Vedder‘s vocal stylings resulting in bands ranging from “utterly terrible” to “oh my god, shoot me in the face”. Notes:
I bought this as a boxed set in a cd store by my house in dallas
in 1997. It cost me ~65$ us. The packaging is a bronze/brass box
with an embossed Pearl Jam logo on the front, and the entire track
listing stickered on the back. The sticker on the back also states
that is is one of 1000 ever produced. It was used when i bought it,
and i have only played it a limited number of times.
The important parts of the booklet were scanned and included along with
this release. Some of the files are originals (scans, most of this txt
file) from when I posted this to stg in 2003 as shn files. This is a
new rip, all of the files were ripped with no skips detected by eac.
The cds were badly scratched when I purchased them, I have repaired
them once, and this is likely to be the last time the originals
see a cd player/drive for quite some time.
Enjoy…

Torrent Of The Day: Pearl Jam (10-6-1991)
Pearl Jam
10-6-91
Palladium: Hollywood, CA
Source: Original Silver Bootleg > EAC > WAV > FLAC
Notes from pjnola24:
I don’t know if this is a PRE-FM SBD or an FM Broadcast show. The Hard to Imagine Website claims that this show is available only as FM Broadcast. This is probably accurate; however it seems that the sound quality is just as good as some PRE-FM SBD shows that I’ve heard. The left/right separation on the guitars is fairly good and the clarity and separation of the individual instruments is pretty good as well.
Also note, that this IS the complete show. Pearl Jam was apparently an opening band for Alice and Chains and Soundgarden for this particular show.
1 – Wash
2 – Once
3 – Even Flow
4 – Alive
5 – Jeremy
6 – Why Go
7 – Porch

Lollapalooza Rumors Begin: Pearl Jam to Headline?

The Chicago Sun-Times is reporting that Pearl Jam will be headlining the third installment of Lollapalooza v2.0. Right now Perry and Company are not commenting, but they will be releasing their line-up in about a month. Last year Lollapalooza was a lot of fun and I really hope this is true because I will most likely be going back again for this. We’ll keep you up to date on any Lollapalooza developments.
