[Mp3] The N.E.C.: “Dead Of Night”
The N.E.C.‘s newest record, Is, dropped back in January, but it just recently saw a vinyl release as well. I finally got myself a copy, and I have to say I’m hooked. They manage to pack quite a range of psychedelic grooves into barely twenty minutes of music. Even when they lean toward their garagey side more than I typically prefer, they still pull it off better than just about everyone else. But Is is a bit of tease, as I find myself wishing each song was about twice as long in duration. They are at The Earl Saturday night with Disappears and Woven Bones, and here’s a cut from the record:
