April Wrap-Up
It’s time for festival season and the summer, and I’m excited. One third of 2007 is over and I think it is a good time to talk about my favourite albums so far. There have been plenty of great stuff, but so far nine have really stood out to me, here they are in no particular order:
Of Montreal : Hissing Faun, Are You The Destroyer?

Marnie Stern : In Absence Of The Broken Arm

Do Make Say Think : You, You’re A History In The Rust

31Knots : The Days And Nights Of Everything Anywhere

Modest Mouse : We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank

2007 has also seen a plethora of great EPs. My three favourites are:
Portugal. The Man : It’s Complicated Being A Wizard

April started with Biggie C getting some good photos of Ted Leo and The Pharmacists and Love Of Diagrams:
I went and checked out DJ Klever, Snowden and Variac. We got some pics and vids of Deerhunter‘s in-store performance at Criminal Records:
I rambled on about musicians. We checked out the Menomena, The N.E.C., Midwives show. The ohmpark crew hit up the Ratatat, 120 Days, Despot show:
I ran around the city catching Sebadoh, Tenth To The Moon, Lid Emba, and Snowden. Everyone but me went to The Books, Todd Reynolds show:
Finally, I got really drunk and went to Nophest and Untied States. School is out for us student-types around here so there’s going to be much more blogging on the horizon. We’ve got a big show we’re putting together for May 19th so lock down your calendar and we’ll hit you with the details this week. Thanks for reading!
